Physics

In physics we are currently learning about heat and all the different kinds of sources of heat. The six main different types of heat are the earth, chemical reactions, the sun,

Chemistry

In chemistry we are learning how to make equations. We are learning formulae and tons of other things. Chemistry is bit hard but is really interesting.

Literature

In literature we are learning about Sherlock Holmes and The Engineer's Thumb.
It is about a man who's thumb is cut off. He is a hydrolic engineer and he is called to a place to fix a hydraulic engine. He was told the machine was used to do something with Fuller's Earth but when he gets there he realises that it is used for something much more EVIL. His thumb gets very badly injured while he was trying to escape. So he goes to Dr.Watson and gets it fixed. Then he tells his story to Sherlock Holmes and hopefully he will solve the case.

Biology

In biology we currently learning about Blood. What it does and how it transports blood.
Blood is made of Red Blood Cells, White Blood Cells, Plasma, ans Platelets. The red blood cells transport oxygen from the lungs to the cells and mainly in the plasma it carries carbon dioxide from the body to the lungs. The white blood cells fight the germs which enter the body and the toxins which the germs produce. The plasma carries the digested food from the gut to the rest of the body, the waste substances from the liver to the kidneys, hormones from hormone glands to where they are needed and heat from the liver and muscles to the whole body so that the body temperature is all the same. The platelets create a blood clot in the places where there is a cut to prevent more loss of blood.

History

In history we are learning about Hitlers Germany.
In the year 1933 Hitlers Nazi Party came to power. Hitler wanted to strengthen his position and he wanted to remove all parties who opposed him. Hitler basically had two major opponents, internal and external. The external opponents were the communists and the internal opponents were the S.A. storm troopers his personal body guards and thugs. In that same year a man named Van Der Lubbe, an arsonist, set fire to the Reichstag building. Hitler had finally got his opportunity to remove the communist party. He termed Van Der Lubbe as a communist and the communists were blamed for the Reichstag Fire. Six days after the fire he set up elections for Chancellor of Germany. 17 million people had voted for Hitler while 20 million had voted against him. But sadly the communists were put down because of the fire. After he was voted Chancellor he invited the communists to the Opera house where he shot down all the communists. Now that he had gotten rid of his external opponents he was aiming to get rid of his internal opponents, the S.A. storm troopers. While they were asleep he shot them all. Then he set up the Gestapo also known as the Secret Police. They were everywhere in shops, in factories, blocks of flats even in schools. They arrested rebels, Jews and sent them to concentration camps. Hitler seemed to building a powerful and prosperous Germany.

Geography

The topic we are currently learning about in geography is on Antarctica.
Antarctica was first discovered in 1820. It is the fifth largest continent in the world. It is called the White Continent because it is covered in a thick sheet of ice of about two to five metres. No human can think of living in Antarctica permanently because of the severe cold and the surface-water temperature of the Southern Ocean rarely rises above 4 degrees Celsius. There are no Eskimos or polar bears in Antarctica but there are over 40 marine species. Many scientists from many places have set up many research centres there to study what all is there in Antarctica. Antarctica is a very important continent.
